U16 Beat Sheffield Sharks to finish 3rd in National Finals
02 May 2010
Some people don't agree with the 3rd place play-off games - people say its doesn't have a point. Well after watching this 3rd place play-off game - I would disagree with you, and suggest its all about attitude. Many of the Pioneers players have been in this position before and all were in agreement - it is just the worst feeling to finish 4th - you don't even get a medal. So from the start the Pioneers were on fire, and for two quarters Sheffield weren't exactly sure what hit them by the time the second quarter was over the score was 51-30. At half-time Sheffield must have started to realise that they clearly didn't want to be 4th either. By the end of the 3rd quarter the score was 59-56 - this was a cracking game! In the end Pioneers remained solid and as Sheffield's 2nd half intensity began to dip Pioneers stamped their control of the game and won through worthy winners 79-74 and 3rd in England. [video]
